Guest lecture by Dr. Orest Semotiuk at theGdansk Center for Cultural Life of the Ukrainian Community

On April 5, Dr. Orest Semotiuk, assistance professor at the Institute of Slavic Studies, gave a lecture on “The Russian-Ukrainian War: Political Humor as a Weapon” at the invitation of the Gdansk Branch of the Ukrainian Union in Poland. The lecture was held as part of the promotion of the project “Laughter during war: Russian aggression in Ukraine in political caricatures and memes” under the POLONEZ BIS program of the National Science Center. The lecture was held at the Ukrainian cultural center, and was devoted to the role of political humor in times of war, as well as differences and similarities in global and national political humor.
