Dr. Orest Semotiuk at 30th International Conference of Europeanists

The 30th International Conference of Europeanists took place in Lyon, France, from July 3rd to 5th, 2024. Organized by the Council for European Studies (CES), the conference focused on the theme “Radical Europe: Violence, Emancipation, and Reaction.”

Dr. Orest Semotiuk was among 1000 participants from 42 countries and participated in the panel: “Mass and Social Media as Fields of Battle.”

His presentation: “Radical Humor as Weapon: Russo-Ukrainian War in National and International Political Cartoons and Memes (Multimodal Frame Analysis) delved into the use of humor in political discourse related to the Russo-Ukrainian conflict.
